A YEAR SAVED BY THE BROADCAST MOUNTAIN.
I won't lie, I was probably two weeks away from making my company dormant and becoming another statistic of the imploding broadcast and creative industries. With so many production companies ceasing to exist, the future looked bleak; it still does. But my persistence was rewarded, at least in the short term. After eight months of not making a promo, September saw me welcomed back to Paramount Kids, having done a single project for them in January. It is such a lovely team to work for and I came to realise just how much I really DO love what I do! I worked on projects for them through to mid-December.
NO SYNC, NO PROBLEM!
The vast majority of the projects worked on this year were for Paramount's Global Feeds distribution - sync-less, template promo edits that would be regionally localised into dozens of languages. This was very similar work to that undertaken at Turner Kids many moons ago, so has required little transition for me. I understand the restrictions that this type of project has, but that doesn't mean you can't have a bit of fun with them.
The only thing - you have to listen to my voice!
Peppa Pig
The Patrick Star Show
The Smurfs
Paw Patrol
I was also tasked with adapting Global Feeds promotions for the UK market, restructuring the edits to contain sync.
